    Thank you!

There is a meaning in this song, I believe. But even if it is meaningless, I like it, cause it's sung in this beautiful language! (which is so difficult to learn

    Thank you, Sohuda!

On Arabic rap - the only arabic rapper I know is Ahmed Mekky. So as for now I love Arabic rap. And Mekky is great, he has very nice voice. But the thing I like most about him and about Arabic rap in general - is that it's in Arabic

Watched Mekky's Pepsi ads on Youtube. Funny. Understood nothing, but I believe he's trying to send an important message

    Great work sohuda :thumbs up:
I agree with you, the song has a great message replying to people who are negatively criticizing his works [and style in general].
it may sound difficult for nonarabic speakers to get the very message of it, Because it's as wlodek said in Arabic, moreover, in Egyptian colloquial.
I like it so much and I'ld like to work on it, if sohuda doesn't mind to modify and continue what she'd started....
But my english isn't the best, so it may take a lot of explanation to deliver its meanings, maybe it will be a bit L..O..N..G too ... If you would like!

and I talk street language even if my words are not classy
And I'm talking street language. So if my vocabularies aren't classy,

عايزك تعرفى انى براب ومليش دعوة بالاغنية
    3ayzek te3rafe enne brap w maleesh da3wa bel oghnya
I want you to know that I'm rap and I have nothing to do with the song
[then] I want you to know that I rap and I don't care about [singing] & song[s],

ولا بتقطع شوق وعذاب ويجوا يرشوا عليا المية
    wla bt2tta3 sho2 w 3azab w yegee yrsho 3alayya el maya
    don't know what he means
[He refers to silly things that some singers do and keep on that for the next 10 lines]
and I do not tore apart/got fainted of longing and torment/pain then they sprinkle me with water.

ولا ع الخضرة كمان بتمرمغ ولا بتنحنح فى الاغنية
wla 3al khodra kman btmarmgh wla btna7n7 fe oghneya
and no, I do not roll around on the grass and do not hem (in the song/[while I'm singing])

I don't sit with fruits here and the few lines ahead all talk about what other singers have done and which he didn't do, like here the vegetable mention means those female singers who do clips with vegetables as a way of seduction (that's how I got it anyway)
That's almost what he means, except of the 'vegetables', as 'khodra' here means 'grass' not 'vegetables'

ولا بدلع ولا بتمرقع ولا الكاميرا تجيب رجليا
wla baddla3 wla batmar23 wla el kamera tgeeb reglaya
and I don't do silly things neither does the camera focus on my legs

ولا نفّخت وحطيت سيلكون ولا كبرت فى تتتتيت شوية
wla nfkhet w hatteet seleekon wla kbert fe teteteteet shwaya
and I haven't done any plastic surgeries, i didn't have any silicon injections and I didn't got [teeeeet/my breasts] a bit bigger.
teeeet: is the sound which obscenity words are being replaced with, as the colloquial word of 'breasts' is inappropriate, so he used 'teeet' instead. like it was censored

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. "ged3an" is a name of one of his songs.
*/2. قلبي اليك ميال is one great song by Fayza Ahmad
** adan [colloqial] = athan[standard] ( [th]; like in [the] ) = is a call for prayer. And it's colloquially used to express what means: each time has its own and special characteristics.
    3. Zayzafon = linden. It's kinda old fashioned way to flirt with a girl.
    4. papyon: derived from the French word papillon = bowtie.
    5. "sadda2iny = believe me" the word 'saDDa2iny' the strong pronunciation of the letter [ د/dal ] as if it's [ض / Dad ], was a way of an old Egyptian actor in talking and that way of pronunciation is weird, moreover, it's linguistically wrong.
    6. 3adawyyah was and probably still a big folk singer.

great job! so professional! now I have a better understand of the song!
The hours of pain have yielded good,
    Which prosperous days refused;
As herbs, though scentless when entire,
    Spread fragrance when they’re bruised.

Hello guys, here's the rest of the song, hope it's clear now to get its meaning.

ولا بتريق انا علي بلدي أو علي ناسها واقول حرية
    wla btre2 ana 3la baladee aw 3la nas.ha w a2ol 7orya
… and I do not mock at my country nor its people, then I say it's freedom

ولسانى كمان مش معوج بتكلم بطريقة عادية
    w lesanee kman msh m3wag batklem bttaree2a 3adeya
and my tongue isn't twisted, I speak in a normal way

مش زي الراب الموجود فى كتير منه بلكنة غبية
mesh zay el rap el mawgood fe kteer meno blakna ghareeba
not like other kinds of rap that is said in a strange/foolish way/style/dialect

المولخية مية مية ، ويا سلام لو بالتقليه""
el mlokheya meyah meyah w ya salam law belta2lya
    now he's imitating that foolish style in the rapping that he previously criticized ;
"elmulukhyya7 is so great, and would be greater with ta2lya 8

شهية شهية ؛ وهي دي القضية
shahya shahya w heya dee el 2adya
[it's] delicious, delicious and that's all what matters

انا ناو مجرم فحت ومش بقلد الامريكان
ana naw morgrem fe7t w mesh ba2led el amrikan
now, I'm a serious criminal and I'm not imitating Americans"

    مسقط بنطولنى وكل البوكسر بان
mesa2t bntalonee w kol el boxer ban
my pants are down and the boxer is apparent

مدرسة المشاغبين قابلوا ساعتها معارضة قوية
    madrast el moshaghbeen 2ablo sa3et.ha mo3arda aweea
He continues his example for things that were criticized when it first appeared, howeverlater, it became remarkable works by time; like a play named madraset el mushaghbeen "riotous' school"
Madraset el mushaghbeen was heavily opposed

قالوا دي تافهة ومش فاهمين وعملوا عليها بجد قضية
    2lo dee tafha w mesh fahmeen w 3emlo 3lyha bgd 2adya
[people] said: it [the play] is trivial, and we don't get [its point] and made a big deal out of it

اهو دلوقتي وبعد سنين فى تراث المسرح وهمية
ahw delwa2ty w ba3d sneen fe torath el masra7 wahmeya
but now and by the years, it became a remarkablework in theater heritage

قولى يا طنط لو انا غلطان ممكن اجبلك امثال تانية
2oly ya ttant ana law ghaltaan momken ageblek amtal Tanya
tell me aunt if I'm wrong, I could give you other examples

بس الاول هشكر نقدك اصل كلامك اثر فيا
bs el awel hashkor na2dek asel kalamek assar feya
but first of all I thank your criticism, because your words really affected me

فى اللي بينقد نقد بجد ده علي راسي ومية المية
fe elly byn2ed na2d bgad da 3la rasy w meyah meyah
[b]there are people who criticize well (constructive criticism) those are whom I respect

وفى اللي يسب ويشتم فيا ده مش ناقد لا نفسية
w fe elly yseb w yeshtem feya da mesh na2ed la nafsya
and there are people who curse and swear at me, this isn't called criticism
    .................................................. ....................., those aren't critics. No they're envious

    الله يرحمك يا دبور
    allah yer7amak ya Daboor
May Allah's mercy be upon you Daboor 9

    يا ترى لو كنت عايش
    ya tara law kont 3ayesh
what would you say if you were alive?!

    كنت هترد و تقول ايه
    kont hatrod w t2ol eih
    what would be your reply?!

    يو يو يو
    yo yo yo:
    now it's Daboor who talks:

م الاخر مهما هكون مش هعجب برضه شوية
mel akher mahma hakon ha3geb bardo shwaya
The bottom line, however I would be, there'll be few who doesn't like me,

وهيطلع كام مليون يقولى عنى ده تييت مقلية
    w hayttla3 kam million y2ole 3la da teet m2leya
and few millions will say: he sucks

يشهد جحا ويا حماره واللي بيحصل حاجة عادية
    yshhad go7a w ya 7maro w elly by7sal 7aga 3adeya
That's normal thing [it is too hard to please everyone] and the best example is the story of Go7a and his donkey 10

ومثلى الاعلى بقه هيكون شاب ديليفرى عزيمته قوية
w mataly el a3la b2a haykon shab delivery 3azymto aweya
my greatest role model is the delivery guy that has a strong will

لابس خوذة وراكب فيزبة ولا بيخاف تخبطه عربية
labes khoza w rakeb feyzba wla bykhab tekhbato 3arabya
wearing a helmet and on a motor and not afraid of being hit by a car

ولا بيهمه كلاب الشارع بس يوصلكوا طلبية
wla beyhemo klab el share3 bs ywaseloko ttalabeya
and also doesn't care about the street's dogs, he just delivers your order

وانا هعمل كده بمحطة وهكمل والناس حواليا
    وانا هاعمل كده بمحبة .................0
    w ana ha3mel keda b ma7bba w hakmel w el nas 7awalaya
and I'll do so/[deliver my message] out of love and with people [support] around me

حاجة أخيرة انا عايز اقولها للى شتموا اظن لذيذة
7aga akheera ana 3ayez a2olha lely shemto azon lazeeza
the last thing that I want to say to those who swore at me
there's one last thing, which I guess is nice, that I want to say to those who swore at me

كل واحد فينا ليه استياله واي واحد فينا له ميزة
kol wa7ed feena leih estaylo w ay wa7ed feena lo meeza
everyone of us has their own style, and any one of us has their own characteristic

فى اللي بيعجب واللي ما يعجب واللى ما عندوش ياخد فيزا
    fee elly by3geb w elly ma ye3geb w elly ma 3endosh yakhod visa 11
there are people whom we like and there are people whom we dislike, and there is people who don't have enough to take a visa
there is [/man/one] who is being loved, there is other who isn't being loved. [But] that who doesn't have [his/her own characteristic should go and get his/her] ^$$ #@!^$&

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    7. Mulukhyya = jew's mallow: is a delicious Egyptian dish; looks like a green soup.
    8. ta2lyya: is the name of fried chopped; onion or garlic and Mulukhyya won't be delicious without ta2lyya
    9. Haitham Daboor or H. Daboor is a character and a movie name for Ahmed Mekky, he's mostly known with it.
    10. Go7a/Goha has been a key fixture of Middle Eastern stories for centuries. He is known by lots of different names, Goha or Joha & Hodja and is loved by grown-ups and children alike. Whatever people call him, he appears as an innocent or even stupid fool, but time and time again the fool turns out to be wise and to outwit those who call him a fool.
This is a link to the story of Goha & his donkey and other stories as well :

    http://www.caabu.org/pdf/educ-goha.pdf
    11. He didn't mean: visa, but he means: fiha. and that slang expression means something like: to get his ^$$ #@!^$&,and as it's rude & inappropriate to say it, so he used visa instead of Fiha.... I apology, I know it's rude, I wish there was another way to explain it
