This comes from one simple thought, yeah certainly inspired by one of my favorite old tunes that was also done very well by Shaggy in reggae style. But this is not a copy of that song at all, it was just an inspiration for expressing this thought.

    ~ ~ ~

You can say whatever is on your mind
But day after day I somehow find
Myself at the waterfall seeing you smile
When we captured the world mile after mile

Running beside you woulda been grand
But I just loved watching you kick up the sand
But no it was mud, and down by the creek
I'm still there in dreams, hearing music as you speak

    Don't you feel it
    Don't let time steal it
    Day One in the Sun
    Life had just begun
    For me and my pal
    The green-eyed gal

    I saw your heart
    So don't even start
Trying to tell me to stop
    Coz I've frozen the clock
    For me and my pal
    The green-eyed gal

    Say what you want
    Just slander my font
    With all kinds of rhyme
    But I'm frozen in time
    With me and my pal
    The green-eyed gal

    You got it now?
    Don't tell me how
    I need to let go
    Of my last big show
    Me and my pal
    The green-eyed gal

    One day you'll see
    The real truth of me
But for now it's just mine
    Forever enshrined:
    Me and my pal
    The green-eyed gal

Another background inspiration for this is another favorite Tiesto tune, sung by Andaine. My favorite part of those lyrics is simple and sweet:

I forgot that I might see
    So many beautiful things
I forgot that I might need
To find out what life could bring

Too simple maybe, but I think that's what life and making good memories is all about: Finding and keeping just a few beautiful things.

Bump. I actually enjoyed writing this one, hope someone will comment. As I just said in another post, the end would probably change if I could get it arranged to music. It's meant (I think!) to be another epic-techno-trance tune, thus the way it multi-choruses out. But I still don't know if it will work ...

Hi MOON, I liked this. I can hear it in reggae or as a blues.

I'd have written:"One day you see the real true me", but that's just a thought, lol
Good and singable piece of work!

This is a favorite among my older writings, for sure. And yeah, maybe I shoulda thought to keep in reggae style.
