I'm not one of those that hates Metallica, but I too feel let down, because they don't play thrash metal anymore.
Like this... This is thrash, this is the original Metallica... (the song has Mustaine written all over it )

Now. One of my favourite bands. Top 10 for sure. Maybe even top 5. ANTHRAX
Listen to this one and try not to get hooked. (this is actually not one of their more famous songs, but I think it's pretty awesome)
[O1JkkqguzzM]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1JkkqguzzM[/video]
So... HEAVY. Notice the change of tempo, I think that's what I like the most...
If you're not familiar with Anthrax, try these also. You won't regret it...
Madhouse
Indians (WARNING - extremly addictive)
Caught in a Mosh (WARNING - extremly addictive)
Among the Living
Medusa
Lone Justice
Got the Time
I Am the Law
In My World
Antisocial
...and many others. Great band.
Oh man. I know she knows Anthrax coz I know that guitar. I've got a great sound system and subwoofer in my car, and sometimes she just loves to "surprise" me with something I "really need to hear"
Well... I was gonna post some REO Speedwagon (just to highlight their "signature vocals") but I think it would really suck right after that post ^

BBOW.....boombox on wheels, defo my favorite mode of transport
Ya there's so much in that song that shows what made them so great, perfect example, great pick!!
ANTHRAX!! 'Indians' is maybe my favorite of all bcs it's so 'fat' and that's how I need to explain where my taste often goes. If it's Rock rather than a Love song or classical or dance or whatever else I may go for from one day to the next, then it usually has to be THICK and almost overpowering on the bass end. Like this song, which actually has several qualities that I really go for....
And even more 'thick' (lol) these guys are death metal but they can defo dig way down in the sludge pit

but to me it's funny that Moon didn't really even 'know' her till I showed him this vid about a year ago another one that you've seen me post before....just one more, hope no one minds....
SO PERFECT for a live performance, even those awesome rhythm transitions. I just hope.....she's been nominated for the Rock Hall of Fame at least twice but still isn't there.....and didn't even get nominated this year....though she was asked to front for Nirvana's induction.....like nearly everyone knows that Joan belongs there....but...... :-|
If Rock music is about 'ATTITUDE' like you wrote in your intro Moon I would love for someone to show me who has displayed more drive and passion for the music over their lifetime than Joan Jett. She is the TEMPLATE for Girl Rocker and the RHOF cannot be complete until her name is there.

And this is one of my favourites, certainly.

And the lyrics are awesome too.
But, if we're really going into Morbid Angel, in my opinion, this is their best song.

I demand to see this corruption wiped away...
Metal "Rocks"? Well YEAH! I'm not so much into it, but don't let me spoil the flow.
This cover is somewhere between the original by Eddie Cochran (1958) and The Who (1969 I think). It's a very fine representation of how I like to hear it.
Brian Setzer, who played Eddie Cochran in the movie La Bamba:
Amethystos: Great idea, album covers.

Blues Rock, some of the finest there ever was. RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Well you've heard about love givin' sight to the blind
My baby's lovin' 'cause the sun to shine
She's my sweet little thing
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy
Well I love my baby, heart and soul
Love like ours won't never grow old
She's my sweet little thing
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy
Yeah I love my baby, she's long and lean
You mess with her you'll see a man get mean
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy
Well I love my baby, like the finest wine
Stick with her until the end of time
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy
Yeah I love my baby, heart and soul
Love like ours won't never grow old
She's my sweet little thang
She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby
I'm her little lover boy

I wonder if that has anything to do with Dad's music collection
(It did for me and that's the only reason that I know anything about 'Aqualung' and 'Like a Rolling Stone'. But I came into Fleetwood Mac almost all by myself, though maybe that was as much because of Stevie Nicks as anything.)

4, 5, 6, 12, 15-string bass. One of his bass guitars didn't have a volume control. There was just a switch for 'off' and 'ON'
(Idk what happened to the video that i originally posted, had to substitute this one.)

(Copied from the video)
When we started this band
All we needed, needed was a laugh
Years gone by
I'd say we've kicked some ***
When I'm enraged
Or hittin' the stage
Adrenaline rushing
Through my veins
And I'd say we're still kickin' ***
Ooo, ahh, kickstart my heart
Hope it never stops
And to think, we did all of this
To rock.
That song just moved into my Rock Top 20.
