Well if you lived during the 80's, you can never get tired of INXS.
Yeap that's the one!
Well done Teshka, cause I thought we had already posted "Another Brick In The Wall", and as for "Heart Of Glass" that was some solid addition to this "Hall of Fame"

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
And what a surprise ..... a guy called Giorgio Moroder received a Golden Globe Award nomination for this soundtrack.

Man that's quite a coincidence coz this artist is known for his movie soundtracks more than anything else. But he released this song from the first album he published "eponymously".

Top Gun => Kenny Loggins. Amethystos my friend, that tune is truly classic. And the video you posted is equally epic.
An American "hero" of a different sort...
Lead vocals by Derek St. Holmes? Nugent in the hat, lead guitar.

at the beginning of the past week we saw an MC/DJ break out in a GREAT and really fun/funny stage routine with this 70's classic, and I wish I could have gotten all of that on video because it was totally awesome

I couldn't agree more.
In truth I had a hard time deciding whether to post that one or go with your previous "movie tunes" theme, e.g., Mrs. Robinson. But I'll get to that one soon, if somebody else doesn't beat me to it.
And that reminds me of another 60s song of the same sub-genre that I'll try to remember to post soon.
Dickie Smothers! What a tool.

Jah-maica. It usually takes me several days to come off the high I get from being immersed in that awesome Reggae thing...
Bob Marley made a mark so big on Caribbean, American and other music around the world, it can never be quantified.

Yet another deee-licious reggae stylism. Written and first recorded by Neil Diamond, but it was years later that UB40 brought it to the top of the charts in several countries.

Red red wine you mek me feel so fine
You keep me rocking, all of the time
Red red wine you mek me feel so grand
I feel a million dollar when you're jus' in my hand
Red red wine you mek me feel so sad
Any time I see you go, it mek me feel bad
Red red wine you mek me feel so fine
Monkey pack 'im rizla pon the sweet dep line
(Red red wine)
Red red wine you give me whole heap of zing
Whole heap of zing mek me do me own thing
Red red wine you really know how fi love
Your kind of loving like a blessing from above
Red red wine I love you right from the start
Right from the start with all of my heart
Red red wine in the 80's style
Red red wine in a modern beat style
Yeah
...
PS: Probably the only reason Neil Diamond's original release didn't do a lot better on the charts is because right after recording this song, he signed a contract with a new record label. That displeased his previous record company so much that they didn't market the song at all.
Such is life when you hook your star to Big Business. Ya mon?

A la la la la long, a la la la la long i long long long
Come on...
A la la la la long, a la la la la long i long long long
Yei-ya...
Standing a-cross the room, I saw you smile
Said I wanna talk to you, for a little while
But before I make my move, my emotions start running wild
My tongue gets tied, and that's no lie
Lookin' in your eyes
Lookin' in your big [blue] eyes
Oo yeah
An' I've got this to say to you
Yei-ya
Girl...

You're right Teshka; being authentic during 60's should've been an extremely difficult task, except from those boys from Liverpool ....
As for "Y.M.C.A" .... well "a must have" in the list
I promise I won't be the one .....
Reggae huh?
Well can't argue about Marley and UB40
