"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

These beautiful gentlemen are nominees for the Rock Hall Of Fame bcs they were the first masters of electronica.....
http://rockhall.com/inductees/nominees/kraftwerk/
This song and the album were their first production that was totally electronic, no analog instruments at all. The 'rock' doesn't really start coming in until about halfway through, but then it takes over
Mssrs. Hütter, Schneider, Bartos and Flür on-stage remixing a powerful classic that gives me goosebumps

@ Tess... I've never heard Kraftwerk sound quite like that before. Nice pick sweets!

Roy Orbison, RIP. Inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 1987 by none other than The Boss, Bruce Springsteen... two Songwriters Halls of Fame, Grammies, a Hollywood Star, Lifetime Achievement; a long list...

A country+rock ballad. Clips from the film Hiding Out; Roy Orbison's cross-over hit (1961), in a beautiful vocal duet with Ms. Lang:

A good solid 3io of songs Teshka.
@Moonride*r*, Roy Orbinson's a LEGEND!
As for the "official" Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ... I consider it a TOTAL joke!

Agreed! One of the best-ever songwriters and vocalists for sure.
Can't argue with that either. Just like too much else in the music world (and the rest of the world).
And for a different reason, I've never been all that impressed with Rolling Stone Magazine either. They wouldn't know a "worthy" song if it jumped up and slapped them in the face. Sometimes they don't figure it out till 5 or 10 years after, after the whole rest of the world knows how great a particular song is.

Genesis - Mama: FABULOUS song! One of the best first hits there ever was, IMHO.
The link you posted isn't available here, but I found one that is:

Pop Rock, mid-70s to... 2014? Yep, it's still there.
I was listening to Chains of Love by Erasure, who had some success in the late 80s and early 90s. I noticed a familiar looking title Take a Chance On Me, so I pulled it up. Realized it was not the original, and immediately remembered who made this song a major international hit more than a decade before...

For this 1985 "signature" hit I'm gonna go with a fabulous-sounding extended promo version, coz the song is so immensely classic:
