"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
I think it all sounded just fine
"Love Changes Everything"....that vid is blocked here but this one isn't. I used to love that song in extended dance mix like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjMX6WA5hSw
Moon, "No Easy Way Out"....so that's the original? I like this cover by Bullet For My Valentine better, to me it doesn't sound quite so commercial

Amethyste: Crazy by Icehouse... one of those songs that (IMO) personified one of my favorite aspects of the mid-to-late '80s sound. I'm not sure how to describe it, but there was almost a mystic quality to a lot of those great songs, and that one's got it. Very nice selection!
Thank you my dear.

Just Two today. I prefer not to distract too much from the mega-classic aspect of these two definitive R-H-O-F groups, and these two epic songs of theirs in particular.

Tess: Cutting Crew... One-hit wonder? But that song is another memorable classic.

I couldn't find a live version I like as much as the original. This is just... Boss. Mister Blackmore says it's his favorite, and I just can't get enough.

Reincarnation
Can you remember... remember my name
As I flow through your life?
A thousand oceans I have flown
And cold... cold spirits of ice
All my life
I am the echo of your past (of your pa-a-a-a-a-a-st...)
I am returning the echo of a point in time
And distant faces shine
A thousand warriors I have known
And laughing as the spirits appear
All your life
Shadows of another day
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect Strangers
I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow
A strand of silver hanging from the sky
Touching more than you see;
The voice of ages in your mind
Is aching with the dead of the night...
Precious life
Your tears are lost in falling rain
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect Strangers
There is no glamour in sudden death, and nobody ever wins a war.

Thank you very much Teshka.
Unfortunately I can only examine if a vid is available for a playback on ATL ....
And thanks for making me post another trio of 80's songs, all new entries!
I agree, and since Teshka posted "I just died in your arms tonight" I think the following is the song that can stand next to it!

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.

but life they retained in their own keeping"
Well I can't say that Purple and Sabbath are not classic .... but I believe Sonny Crockett is more!!!!!!

If you just read the title you probably won't remember it .... I surely didn't

i just posted it fullsize in the 'what are currently listening to' thread. Is that what you mean?
Wow more 80's greats, so much music from that decade it's really hard to run out of songs to post
I don't know if this trio ever had a hit song of their own but they recorded a lot of really great covers....

Guys please forgive me for 'showboating' but after reading those lyrics and then becoming so totally entranced by that Deep purple song, I just couldn't help revisiting this prose that i wrote some time ago......something that was inspired not only by own history but also very much by 2 Greek friends

Ah! That Sonny Crockett! Yep ..... and why don't they ever show Miami Vice reruns on any of those hundreds of cable channels I get?!?
That opening saxophone got all over me man. I'd forgotten how great that song is.
Hat offs to three great picks Amethyste!

This is a hodgepodge. I'd say the only "theme" in this mess is "old" ... Two old songs and one old dude. Mr. Cohen, I salute your decades of musical genius.
Here with Bono and U2 in an off-movie-set video capture:

PS: I didn't remember The Boys of Summer by its title either, but it only took about 4 guitar chords to bring it front and center. Pure Classic!
You can showboat with me any time you feel the urge babe.
Like you just did with that hot little trio of tunes.

There are vids that when posted on ATL give me a message like "this vid is only playable on youtube ..."
Ok since we're all enjoying 80's ... for today 3 female voices - new entries from that decade.
Keep it coming!
Not sure if I would spend time watching it today though ......
So right!

I have a similar problem on mobile sometimes and it INFURIATES me when I can't get a video to play :-|
@ Moondogg.....
Leonard Cohen <3
Spanish Moon <3
Joe Walsh <3 and ty for that one
Amethyste, Jennifer Rush <3
(she is so beautiful)
(love this extended version of 'I Come Undone' .... /watch?v=OGhJt3vHaUs)
That title reminded me of this sweet 90's song....
Lost in a snow filled sky
We'll make it alright to come undone
Now we'll try to stay blind to the hope and fear outside
Hey child stay wilder than the wind and blow me in to cry
Who do you need
Who do you love
When you come undone
