They maybe failed commercially, but they certainly influenced the generations to come, this one in particular may have been the "muse" for some songs of a well known Irish band.

ty my friend and it's always great when we can revive memories that are so long forgotten
Driver's Seat is one of those songs that i never really 'listened to' before whenever i heard it. It's really a great song!
Burnin' For You, that bridge and chorus are totally memorable
Moondogg I'm just as impressed as Amethyste about that 'Major Tom' thing! and the last one as well <3
LOVE THIS SONG and i can still remember the first time i ever heard it, like it was yesterday....but the vid should require age verification

Here's that other Gotthard song....well one other that I have on my playlist....creds to Led Zeppelin for the original. Several different artists have covered it but I think Gotthard (Steve Lee) and Slash are the best....

I've been negligent in updating my off-site songlist, and Tess keeps forgetting the admin password.
I'll try to do better in the future. And create a simpler password.
It was mostly luck. During a quick trip to the store I happened to hear "Major Tom" on the radio, and the title kept rattling and rolling around in my head... Where have I heard tht before? .... and then that line from Bowie's song, Ground control to Major Tom, popped through the clouds. And there it was.
Thank-you-thank-you!

And Amethyste, Sniff 'n' the Tears/Driver's Seat was an awesome pick! It probably would've taken me about a year to "discover" that one again.
....... Hmm..... I know somebody used it in a TV ad a few years ago, and for some reason I sorta thought I almost heard vocals by Hall & Oates, or maybe Sting... or somebody like that. But I really don't know... ?
And watching that video made me feel a little tired too.
You should do the lyrics for "I Want You", coz I think everybody else has got at least a word or two wrong.
And I thoroughly agree, great song! ... and video!

Closing with a great old blues-y rock tune. I love focusing on Fogerty's guitar work in this one:

@Teshka "I Want You" a good pick, and "Maniac" is no longer on my list.
And it's true that Gotthard showed respect to "Immigrant Song".
"Suzie Q" is a true classic and "I Like to Rock" even it has "the Day Tripper - Satisfaction ending" is a great pick,
but the things that alerted my brain cells is visible on the last minutes of the following vid
I speak about the part 4.05 to the end
where we can see the following
Man I loved that kind of table top games .....
You can also see the making of a cup of cappuccino, I believe that back on 1979 owing an espresso machine was kinda unusual but look at the smile of the guy that has just made his coffee after carefully adding cinnamon on top, priceless memories
Many many thanks for posting this vid man!

One of the greatest moments of Queen ....having Freddie in superb condition and with such accurate simplicity in their lyrics!
I wake up
Feel just fine,
Your face
Fills my mind....
Your smile,
Speaks books to me

@ Amethyste....Sweet - Ballroom Blitz = SUUUWEET!! I listened to that one early today, it was the first 'unnatural' sound that i heard this morning and it got my eyes wide open!!
I always love listening to Queen, and that vid....I keep wanting to get on that train and find out where it's going but yea Freddie and the gang....are immortal. Some people are with us for too short a time and then they leave. But their music will stay with us forever.
@ Moon (and Amethyste) 'I like to rock', yea that song has so many almost Pavlovic /familiar sounds in it but it seems so classic all by itself. and that was really great to start off with! and then right behind that was my favorite of your three-o, Desert Moon <33
I have too many passwords to remember :-/ and my browser never saves the password for that site like i tell it to

chose this vid because it's from a video game and it's meant to be entertaining and not political? I've never played that game or even seen it, but 1 or 2 of the scenes did give me a Final Fantasy moment
video title is wrong? NOT t.a.t.u singing russian in background? Viktoria Fersh? не знаю, не важно, просто люблю музыку <3

Amethyste, I forgot to say before: The Sound...
Eh. What does "commercial" success have to do with great music anyway, right? And I do wonder, what does Bono think of these guys? ... and the vocalist even reminds me a bit of Jim Morrison. I for one think I Can't Escape Myself is a rather brilliant (albeit short and simple) piece of musical choreography.
FOOSBALL!!!
I thoroughly agree amigo and I'm glad you introduced that thought on this page. Because... bear with me for a moment, 'til the next post...

I was wondering how "THE Best Bands of Rock" were doing in our highly personalized list of (very) close to 800 songs. This is how it stacks up so far.
Artists with 7 entries:
.. Deep Purple
.. Queen
.. ZZ Top
6:
.. Beatles
.. CCR
.. David Bowie
.. Elton John
.. Mötley Crüe
And quite a few more have 5 entries so far. That includes one of my all-time favorite (American) bands, and I just can't let them be so under-represented in our list...

..... And (speaking of priceless memories) here's the thing... if Tess will pardon this particular flashback into the very distant past ..... I still remember the first time I ever danced with a girl who I had a crush on. It was at a Halloween thing at school, on a Friday night, when I was 12 years old. Her name was Beth. She and her sister took dancing lessons (dad was a doctor and he could afford it) and Beth wanted to teach me every dance she knew. So yeah. It was a great night for me.
And whoever the DJ was, he was obviously a huge Beach Boys fan, because he played every hit the Boys had ever had. And in the process (partly because I was dancing with The Girl Of My Dreams) he made me a Beach Boys fan for life.
And I've decided, this time around, it just won't do to mix the Beach Boys with anybody else. And all their songs were pretty short.
First up:

And "last" ... but not ... the first track on their 15th studio album, but here they dare to "do it again" 50 years later. Is that phenomenal or what?
Well I've been thinkin' 'bout
All the places we've surfed and danced and
All the faces we've missed so let's get
Back together and do it again...
