Rings toooo true to be fiction. The heroine( or villainess) is all so fleshed out for real.
Personally i like:
Wears Paris fashions
when robbing banks.
So polite on the way out
(Makes you imagine a scene in a R.De Niro flick)

I was thinking of the film "Tombstone" while writing that verse.(Starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer)The actors in that film all were wearing Paris fashions.A very tony touch of elegance.
While re-reading this, one of my favorites to be sure,I came across your comment about the second to last verse.Frankie Jasmine also said this (on Wild West Jess part 2,before I had the entire song in one place)about that verse. The only reason I bring this up is,I'm glad that you were able to choose one stanza over the others. And since it's the same stanza,I looked extra hard at it.(for me,it's like trying to choose a favorite child!)I think it's the comparison between marriage and jail, and the making it "personal"with the line,"Take it from me".I think that may have been why people are drawn to that particular verse over the others.
Very much indeed...(a combo of the trash-flick "Casino" & the thriller "Heat")
Personally, i like De Niro so much.
I've been away for so long, too long(lots of new threads now).
So what plans have you got for Wild Jess?
Hmmm. What plans do I have for Wild West Jess?.........Since I wrote this almost 10 years ago,and just recently "bumped"into her on the street(on my weekly visit to the Farmer's Market)let's just say we're getting reacquainted and who knows what "plans" I have for her,or she for me.Just the
fact that she now knows she's been immortalized in my songs, may have an unknown factor in the
storyline of our lives.
P.S.@Comment 21:I'm glad you got that this "so fleshed out to be fiction"!The set and time and storyline were fiction but the girl herself, was all too real!If you look close, you may find her comments on a couple of my threads!
All I can say about 'the girl' and Doug are "never say never"...lol!! I couldn't help it Doug, it was too easy...rest assured, while I am flattered to have been a muse to some of your best works, it wasn't really me you were writing about, it was your feelings that you did not know how to express in any other way..and you tried, you showed me the poems and I clearly misinterpreted them!!
Btw, Doug, about to send you a poem I've been working on all weekend, then let me know if you think I should post it.
-"wild west Jess"
She IS KINDA SEXY...just wanted to clarify that..let's just take "Kinda" out...she is sexy...I know her well- she oozes pure sex appeal and unbelievable intellect!!
Doug & Jess alllllllllllllll the way!
Did I say "Kinda"? I meant "Definitely"...My bad...typo...lol
I love that it tells a story. Catchy. Kind of reminds me of A Poem on the Underground Wall!

I'm hearing these really awesome lyrics with that kind of western guitar that accompanied the old greats like "Ghost Riders in the Sky". Some lyrics spoken, others sung. There's just something about this song that won't let me envision it with a modern tune, no matter how I try.
