Hi, at university I saw Parvez Sharma's documentary "A Jihad for Love" today ... so there was this very nice Arabic song with a female singing it ... lucky me found the documentary on Youtube, so here's the sample of the part you can hear in the movie:

I still hope that someone else knows, I like this song and would like to own a complete version if possible. The other song which was played (the instrumental part of an Indian song) exists ... I wish this one would exist as well.

Hi Steena, listening to the music I find the style is close to Rai Music which has its origin in Algeria (Tunesia and Morocco); as the film is about arabic people in france I think I could by right. ARTE often shows films about this theme.
I think Larosa could help you, but she cannot watch youtube for some political reason.
Another idea.... you contact ARTE and as when they are going to show the film againg (Wiederholung) and you have a look at the end (Abspann) as ARTE shows it fully and so can see the music track list.

Thanks for your help, the song was not stated in the credits ... it's not ARTE's movie rather Parvez's ... they just broadcasted it, I don't think they will be able to help.

I thought it would be quite easy to get the song's name when you know the language ... the guy introduced in this part of the documentary comes from Egypt so it makes sense that it's music from around that area

I feel so ashamed.....I have this CD from Natacha Atlas and I have the song and I didn´t recognize it..... How could that happen????
But in the youtube-Video is it really Natach Atlas singing? I doubt as it is a different voice.
