"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
Amethystos I like a lot of your picks more than I like many of my own
I have exactly one girlfriend my age that would love this whole thread. And she also loves Scooter, Basshunter and stuff like that but otherwise I can't ever connect musically with most anyone else around my age....everyone seems to be so stuck on Linkin Park, Rihanna and so on. I suppose that's why I'm enjoying this thread so much, there's an amazing amount of great music that most of my acquaintances hardly even know exists

Thank you Teshka.
The same way I like "To the moon and back". I feel it must already be considered a "classic".
Taste in music, consists the less significant factor when you're picking someone to be your friend.
If only there were enough people to simply ... communicate.

This song had to wait for a good 14 years period (and also change it's title) before it transforms in the way we loved it!

Man! That "14 years later" (a FINE rendition) made me forget who originally made the song a hit.
I'm in complete agreement there, absolutely. But, maybe in a rare golden moment, music can be the key that opens the door.

... Maybe I need to start a list of everything that gets posted in this thread. I just got the feeling that somebody... moi?... already posted one or both of those songs...
I'm thinking about creating a Table, like one of the samples below. It would be too long to edit into my first post on Page 1. But I could put it at the top of Page 10, or whatever. Then I could add an annotation in Post #1... "Song Index is on Page 10" ... like that.
If this sounds feasible, I have a few questions to throw at you folks:
-- Alphabetize by Song? or Artist? or just list songs by Page/Post# like I have it below?
-- Add a column for Album name?
-- Include Year or not? We may get it wrong every now and then.
Even more exotic; this is how I indexed a thread that I started some time ago...
http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=136127
Each song title is a clickable link. But that was a lot of work. We already have roughly 200 videos in this thread.
Examples (I'll delete these later to reduce the clutter):
... Or I could do it this way (alphabetized by Artist):
Artist/Band Song Year Page/Post# Queen We Will Rock You 1/1 Dire Straits Walk of Life 1985 1/1 ZZ Top Can't Stop Rockin' 1986 1/1 George Thorogood w/Bo Diddley Who Do You Love 1/1 Buddy Holly Rave On 1/2 Bill Haley & the Comets Rock Around the Clock 1954 1/2 The Diamonds Little Darlin' 2004 1/2 1/2 Danny & the Juniors At the Hop 1957 1/2 Chubby Checker The Twist 1962 1/2 Martha & the Vandellas Dancing In the Street 1/2 Elton John Crocodile Rock 1/2 Dire Straits Sultans of Swing 1985 1/2
Artist Song Year Page/Post# Bill Haley Rock... 1954 1/2 Buddy Holly Rave On 1/2 Danny & the Juniors At the Hop 1/2 Rock 'n' Roll Is Here To Stay 1/2 the Diamonds Little Darlin' 2004 1/2 Dire Straits Walk of Life 1/1 Sultans of Swing 1/2 Elton John Crocodile Rock 1/2 ... ...

We've posted 185 vids.
I've already created an xls with columns having the band names, song names and page number.
I didn't include the year and I also didn't add the "The" before band names.
If you want it tell me to upload it and give you a download link.
Eventually there'll be double posted vids; need some work to add a link to every post btw .
You've done a great work with the other thread btw.

Love that video with 'Your Wildest Dreams'.
Amethystos I wonder if Moon guessed that you would already be ahead of the curve on indexing this thread? I've noticed that you've used tables in several of your posts.
I would go with NOT linking songs bcs that could easily be too much work.
It may be a few more hours before Moon can respond.
I stumbled on this (my #1 fave by the Beach Boys) after browsing Oldies/Country/Rock, etc etc etc, so now the 'recommendations' on my youtube page are an omelette with lots of extras....plus the cover with Lorrie Morgan (a girl's take) was right after that in someone's playlist....

This is mine. The bass-vocal-harmony just gets all over me:
But this one's probably the most popular of all their hits:
Released as a single in 1966; included on this album 11 months later:
"... [V]oted number one in the Mojo Top 100 Records of All Time chart in 1997
and number six on Rolling Stone's list of the '500 Greatest Songs of All Time'...
[and is] part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list."

Yep, all Correct.
The original, released as a single in 1967::
Where's Animal to sing this one?

Let's get a bit thrashy, eh? Pink Floyd has The Wall, and thrash legends Testament go OVER THE WALL...

Pure energy.
Now, someone mentioned Nightwish here. Was a big fan when I was younger.
And I am once again. Absoloutely LOVE how new singer, Floor Jansen, sounds with the band. This is just one example, an epic performances.
