Thanks for posting these, Duffy. I wasn't aware of any of these covers.
When you have a moment, please look at the comments under your clip of the cover of "Gie mou" by the Scars:

Are the comments saying that the song is originally Armenian?
If they are saying that, then is it true?

No, the singer is Armenian and sometimes say: gia sou Armenia / hello Armenia and confess that likes the greek music.

I realize that Δεληβοριάς is not on Duffy's list of great "neo" composers, but this song is GREATTTTTTTTTTTT!

Did it become a hit outside of Greece? It certainly sounds like it should have become an international hit ...
Like always in my own world and suddenly I see her passing
With a tote bag “Eleftheroudakis”* and she is smiling at me
Snails at Stadiou's Street and Clovers at Sina’s Street
You make Athens beautiful with your walking.
Lemon trees at Korai’s Street, White flowers at Zonars*3
I want to see you alone!
The one who is passig The one who is passing
Let’s ask her to see where she is going
Ask her where is our destination
Her unknown street to find ours
I ask her “What’s up?” she says “I’m simply going to my university"
To the dancing event, to the assembly, to the Philosophical school
Gardens at Benaki's street and pasturages at Skoufa's street.
People are buzzing all over your flower.
Lavander little windows at the TAXIs and the buses.
Everyone is saying good morning to each other.
Snails at Stadiou's Street and clovers at Sina’s Street
You make Athens beautiful with your walking.
if you have nothing to do I’ll marry you right now.
And so the spring time begins.
International hit? Surely not.
Greek hit? Nope. Probably a semi well-known song.
Too "cultural" for Greeks. If the sound of Delivorias is what you liked then I suggest you try Ναμα or this -> http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=148364
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
You wrote:

But I hear the song all the time - it's in one of the playlists on the Live365 web station Radio Rainbow Greece (Athens).
Maybe one of the program managers just happens to like it, so he puts in on the playlist.
Maybe. Why don't you try http://live24.gr ?
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
I usually just listen to the live streams from the real Greek radio stations Glenti, Dalkas, and Styl, and I only listen to Live365 stations at work, because I can't get the live streams at work.
But I will check out your suggestion also ... thanks ...

And you will leave
And you will pass
And you will forget
And I will remain
To slowly extinguish
In a corner.
A stopped clock,
A wrecked ship,
A sparrow chased
By the snow.
When will strike
That hour,
The black hour,
Don’t feel pain,
And leave me alone
In the frost.
A stopped clock,
A wrecked ship,
A sparrow chased
By the snow.
By the snow...
By the snow...
