Well this is just incredibly interesting! and it's far more than I can even try to reply to in any brief way, except to say that, as an open question, it suits quite well the underlying context that begins this "topic"...
What is the essence of "enjoying the moment"?
And the other part of the question is; is it "right" or "wrong"?
I take that question (or one of the "questions" in all of your discussions) from the idea that monasticism is assumed to be a lifestyle involving denial of self, or self-pleasure, in the pursuit of pleasing God to the utmost.
And I would even say that the Biblical apostles Peter and Paul addressed that question in one of the arguments they had: Was it proper or acceptable for a "circuit-riding" disciple of Christ to bring his wife along in his travels? ^-^
But the rest of the question is, What is "self"? And how do we reconcile self, or Freud's 3 parts of the Id, or "I am" (which some say is the name of God Himself) into the existence of the human moment?.... which one might say is God-given, if one were so inclined?
