Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!
Hi Joyce (Urbaniak)... you are correct... however, we are talking slang here.
The word "dale" has different meanings, depending on how it is used.
Yeah sorry...I thought it was implied that we were talking slang...
Dale in it's literal form means: to give... You are absolutely correct.
But in the Caribbean or PR (as I would know it) They have adapted the word to mean: Go for it...or Do it...But it also holds true to its literal translation...Depends on the sentence...
Sorry for the confusion!![]()

As you know I am learning spanish so I am in a state of confusion most of the time.LOL When slang is thrown in it can sometimes get REALLY confusing. But I keep on keepin' on. Thanks for the clarification.

A team once again! The reason I translated "get set" it's because that is the phrase that is used in English when people are competing:
On your marks, get set, go!
I have never heard it said "On your marks, ready, go" BUT, I have heard little kids on the play ground say:
Ready, set, go!
Same meaning. Too long of an explanation. Sorry... I'm procrastinating again. Back to work!
athnk you. based on the beat of the song that makes lots of sense
You are very welcome.

Hi I had some questions too,
1. What is the spanish word for "damn"? Like, damn that boy is hot!
2. What about a cholo? I know what they look like, but is it like a latino gangster or something and what about the colors they have? Something like bloods and crips?
3. Last one about a cholo too, what is the exact meaning of "ese"?
Love this topic anyway, you guys are so nice helping us all out![]()
