Basic Guitar Pedalboard Set-up

I have recently gotten more and more into my music, and I want to start looking into guitar effects pedals. What I ask from you, is to provide me with a list of basic pedals I should buy (Suggesting specific brands would also help) and also the order I should put these pedals in, as I've heard that can effect the sound coming from the amp.
