Thats why its posted here - hoping someone may know the title/artist. I suppose you can always call up the california DMV and go through their phone menu to speak to customer service. I think they still use this same music and you'll be on hold a long time to you'll get to hear it repeat at least a few times.

Youre right, the DMV does still have it, i just called them this week. I am tempted to do that i just dont want to be on hold for an hour.

The music on hold for West Hawaii Today, Kailua Kona, Hawaii has exactly the same song. This must be from a commercial music on hold package or could be a part of a particular type of pbx phone system.

I think it sounds more like 90's funk/soul rather than jazz.
