Default A Very beautiful Ghazal by Hafez, named "Every time you look into my eyes...

    The first Part:

Marā mibini o hardam, ziyādat mikoni dardam
Every time you look into my eyes, you put salt into my wounds
Tow rā mibinam o meylam ziyādat mishavad har dam
Every time I look into your eyes, my passion soars for you
Beh sāmānam nemiporsi, nemidānam cheh sar dāri
You never ask about my well being, I don't know what you are going to do with me
Beh darmānam nemikooshi, nemidāni magar dardam
You do not try to heal my wounds as if you are unaware of them

Na rāh ast in keh bogzāri marā bar khāk o bogrizi
Leaving me here on the ground is not respectable
Gozāri ār o bazam prs ta khāk-e rahat gardam
Return to me and look for me - I will be the dust of your road forever*
Nadaram dastat az dāman bejoz dar khāk o ān dam ham
I cannot reach you, I would only reach your skirt if I became dust**, but even in that case
Keh bar khākam ravān gardi, begirad dāmanat gardam
When you would walk over my dust, your skirt would absorb all of it***
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    * "Dust of your road" is a Persian proverb and it means the lover would sacrifice anything for his beloved

** We have "Dust" again here. It has ambiguity for sure, in one hand it alludes to the previous line and on the other hand it refers to a situation where the lover has died because of his love and he's become dust.

*** It's a very sophisticated sentence, which refers to mysticism. It means that love is so strong that the lover would become a part of his beloved soul in the end.

I really liked the meaning of the last verse.

All duality is transcended with the union of the pair of opposites.
