Contemporary Russian authorities attempt to make idiots of all the remaining population but even mental patients put reasonable questions, like in this song. The personage of God's fool is the only adequate figure in this madhouse of ours.

I think it's not (only) a Russian problem. In German we commonly blame Putin for the conditions in Russia.

The problem with Putin is that he was appointed by marasmatic Yeltsin and continued the policy of destruction of economics, education, healthcare, science, and even the army and police. Payment of house rent equals minimal pensions and wages. All ministers are dilletants. The only thing that increased is interference of Kremlin into all processes concerning power: elections and appointments. All letters to the president are rederected to those whose actions are complained of.

This was written a dozen years ago. I was wrong. It still persists.

It's not the first time that Russia is close to the edge of the abyss. And it won't be first time it astonishes the world. Russia did not invent industrialisation, but overwhelmed Nazi-Germany, at great sacrifice. Russia did not invent capitalism, but is playing that game now, at great sacrifice. Since our offspring's destinies are knottet anyway, I hope we'll finally create common solidarity in future. Not being splitted again by our regimes and alleged interests. From your view it might be better in some Western countries. But the tendency is the same everywhere.

I think the direction Russia took is not independently and not accidentally in relation to the interests and social processes in the remaining systems. I am still under impression of the serious article of our satirist Michail Zadornyi who analyzed slogans of mass anti-Putin demonstrations and suggested his own variant of demands for reforms to be presented to Putin.
