For years, my sister has been looking for this late 80's/early 90's fast-tempo alternative song - the style may be similar to The Wonder Stuff.

Random lyrics:
I heard that it rained in California

I'm gonna tell you something that you already (know/learned)
I've (seen/felt) the fire and I'm still getting burned

There's also something about "lights" in the chorus
