hey guys just wondering is ther anything in place to protect our rights to the lyrics we post here

I am about to release a mix tape soon and I want to share some of my work to get feedback but before I do I wanted to know if there is anything in place here to protect our content or lyrics

As far as I remember your authorship can be proved by the date of first publication, be it Internet or local media or elsewhere. You may read more at the US Copyright official site. E.g. here.
