i am looking for this song i heard as a child that play on country radio. it sounded a little soft rock, with a beautiful woman's voice and my child's memory remembers the song went something like:

"can anybody please help me...
a shadow light, and fa-la-la-la
in love with someone else instead"

first line could be "if anybody can help me"

i believe the 'help me' and 'instead' are accurate, but as for the rest i have no idea

i loved this song but have never been able to find it. would so appreciate any help!
