Searching for Title and Author of a very old song

I have been surfing and so far unsuccessful.... I am looking for a very old song that my father used to always play on our old turntable it was a 45. It has to be 1950's or older. All I can remember it the line " Pardon Me Mr. Gordon" and that was was repeated a lot in the song.
