Default SOLVED WHAT IS THIS SONG?? ooh de la, ooh de la USA ...

I can never find this song on google for obvious reasons as the only lyrics i can remember are the chorus, and even they are bizarre - but i remember it being a decent tune! SOMEBODY MUST KNOW IT please!!!!!!! (Please bear in mind the ''ooh de la'' may have been something else entirely although this is what i remember it sounding like as a little kid in 80's)

chorus went something like below .......

    oooh de la
    oooh de la
    oooh de la
    oooh de la
    oooh de la
    oooh de la hay

    oooh de la
    oooh de la
    oooh de la
    oooh de la
    oooh de la U.S.A.

    Cool

I'll be damned if it does turn out to be Mike Oldfield's "Lost In France" at the end of the day
Heck, really, it'd be too bizarre to believe it.

Unhappy ooh de la ooh de la

Hi, Many Many thanks for your responses and input on this, but no this is not the song, it was a male vocal, pretty sure it has never been covered, I'd say it was mid 80's possibly a bit earlier early 80's or so, but it was definitely a pop song of it's time, i just wish i cud remember the rest of it, but the chorus lyrics what i described earlier are pretty much spot on how it went, judging by that i'm thinking it was a song something about the USA possibly??

    Lyrics:

Whiplash in the dead of night,
    Down on Sunset dynamite,
Blinding lights on the Marquee shining bright.

There's George on his knees again,
On the town with Miss Zimmerman,
Alert the media and then my friend.

Ooh la la in L.A., Ooh la la in the U.S.A.
One night stands with a one night band is this
Ooh la la in L.A., Ooh la la in the U.S.A.
Making out every turned on a hit and miss.

You see the food and you feel the force,
B.L.T. and there ain't no sauce,
You get enough to feed a horse that's true.

    Down at Barney's playing pool,
    Minnesota Fats is ulta cool,
A load of balls make you look a fool then you.

Ooh la la in L.A., Ooh la la in the U.S.A.
One night stands with a one night band is this
Ooh la la in L.A., Ooh la la in the U.S.A.
Making out every turned on a hit and miss.

    Runaway on the radio,
A power play every hour or so,
A never ending red eyed T.V. show.

Ooh la la in L.A., Ooh la la in the U.S.A.
One night stands with a one night band is this
Ooh la la in L.A., Ooh la la in the U.S.A.
Making out every turned on a hit and miss.

It's in the dead of night, And it's a dynamite,
The blinding lights are shining brighter and brighter.
    He's on his knees again,
    Alert the media my friend.

Ooh la la in L.A., Ooh la la in the U.S.A.

    all this peace and understanding
go drum go dance round and round
in America yeeooo ay da yeeooo ah

    a pocket full of posies
    and cheap scented roses
every house should have it's hat on
so in and out and round and round,
up and down and lost and found
